Schuyler D. Goines, MBA, spent a decade analyzing balance sheets and cash flow projections in corporate finance before he decided to build something different. That decision led him into real estate, where he has spent the past 10 years completing hundreds of transactions and building a business grounded in a simple philosophy: put people first.

A Career Built on Service

Mr. Goines approaches every client relationship with the same mindset. He describes himself as a servant-type person and believes that his orientation toward others has shaped everything he has accomplished. “I’m passionate about people, and I’m there to help them,” he says. “I’m there to serve others.”

That people-first approach extends to how he defines success in a competitive industry. He credits much of his growth to a willingness to set his own priorities aside. “I put other people’s needs ahead of mine. You have to be selfless in this business to be good at it.”

Making the Leap From Corporate Finance

Before he entered real estate, Mr. Goines spent a decade at United Technologies and Sikorsky Aircraft, where he held roles in financial planning and analysis. He earned both a bachelor’s degree and an MBA in accounting from the University of New Haven, and that analytical training later proved useful when he shifted into deal analysis and investment property management. He purchased his first investment property, a three-family home, and eventually left his corporate job to pursue real estate full-time.

The transition has resonated with many people in his life. Friends and former colleagues have told him they admire his decision to step away from the corporate world, and several have shared their own desire to do the same. A decade later, Mr. Goines continues to build on that choice, moving beyond simply residential parcels. “I sell residential, luxury and investment properties,” he says. “I sell all things, but that’s really where I focus.”

A Business Shaped by Versatility

Mr. Goines takes pride in serving clients across every price point and background. During his time with Keller Williams, he earned multiple production honors, including Gold and Double Gold awards and a 2019 Breakthrough Award for doubling his business. Since joining Coldwell Banker, he has continued that momentum, earning consecutive Sterling Awards in 2024 and 2025.

He has also watched the industry shift dramatically since he began. Closing table meetings have largely disappeared, and the market has swung from favoring buyers to often favoring sellers. Where lowball offers once stood a chance, Mr. Goines now tells clients that any offer below asking price risks being dismissed outright. He prepares buyers and sellers with a clear plan before they enter the market, believing that preparation may protect them from costly mistakes down the line.

In the years ahead, Mr. Goines hopes to double his business and expand his team while continuing to serve clients with the same dedication that carried him through his career change a decade ago.
